 SUNK YOU ARE SENTENCED TO FRIENDSHIP...FOR LIFE SHORT FILM GENRE: DRAMA WRITER / DIRECTOR: JAMES HARMSWORTH SYNOPSIS: Dave and Glen have known each other since they were kids. They grew up together in an outer suburbs neighbourhood. They've moved out of home now and now live together, they are friends who would do anything for each other. Glen is an illegal street racing participant. Dave loves to film himself having sex with women. Our
story is told off a damaged mini-dv tape. There is a lot of tape distortion
as the tape had been badly water damaged. What
follows is the story of how Glen has hit a girl while street racing
and how they deal with the situation. The girlfriend becomes our impromptu
camera operator as the two friends try to work out how they are going
to take care of the situation under the fear of committing a crime and
going to jail. The girlfriend is the voice of reason as the pair enact
a crazy plan to dump the body and the car in a local lake. The body
of the girl is bundled into the boot of the car after much trepidation
and argument on Glen's part. Dave is loyal to his friend and doesn't
want him to get into trouble, but is not as keen on Glen's plan to dump
the body. The car is driven to the lake, panic sets in for Glen and
they struggle to comprehend what they are doing. The girlfriend remains
lucid and tries to talk them out of every move. |

FEATURE FILM GENRE: TEEN COMEDY WRITER / DIRECTOR: JAMES HARMSWORTH PITCH: Weekend at Burnie's meets American Pie SYNOPSIS: Robby get the chance of a lifetime, to take his dream girl to the prom thanks to a dare by the cheerleading team. Robby and his rag-tag group of social misfit mates proceed to get him, and themselves, geared up for the big night. BUT...The night before the prom, Robby's date dies in a freak accident. Needless to say, Robby will never let an obstacle like that get in his way. He's going to take her to the prom dead or alive...well...dead. His mates are horrified at the prospect, but agree to go along with the plan. Chaos and hilarity ensues. STAGE: 1st draft |

FEATURE FILM GENRE: HORROR WRITER / DIRECTOR: JAMES HARMSWORTH PITCH: ALL GIRL CATHOLIC SCHOOL SLASHER SYNOPSIS: Off in the hills of rural England is The Smyth Academy for girls. A young Jenny is sent off to boarding school by her parents and she quickly comes to terms with her new surroundings. At first it's a real laugh, making friends quickly and pushing the boundaries raises the ire of the headmistress. Thinking it a harmless fun, Jenny and friends ramp up their practical jokes, but when one of the girls goes missing, the fun quickly turns to terror as one by one they are picked off by an unseen predator. The brutality builds as more girls get slaughtered, and Jenny is left to fend for herself as chaos reigns within the walls of the Smyth Academy. STAGE: 1st draft |

 THE VAN 3 : DISSENSION THIS TIME, IT'S REAL. SHORT FILM GENRE: HORROR WRITER / DIRECTOR: JAMES HARMSWORTH SYNOPSIS: The third installment of The Van trilogy. Started way back in 1999 as a student project, the Van took on a sequel in 2001 as more of a developmental project to map the progress of the director and as sort of a visual diary of a filmmaker. The Van: the return was the first time a non-linear edit system had been used by the director to cut a film and was the beginning of a steep learning curve into the realm of digital as apposed to a Steinbeck. The Van 3 represents the conclution of the saga and takes on a new direction as clues to the first two movies are revealed and The Van Man finally comes to terms with his fate. It's the startling conclusion to this epic journey....or is it... STAGE: 2nd draft |
